Baseball/Softball Seeded into NCS Playoffs

The Mustang baseball and softball squads are headed into the first round playoffs of the the NCS tournament with both games to be played at St. Vincent High School. After finishing 20-4 and securing the league championship vs. Sonoma Academy, the Mustang baseball team received the #6 seed in the tournament and will play Bentley out of Lafayette. St. Vincent beat Sonoma Academy Friday night 7-0 to win the league championship. Liam Galten was the winning pitcher of record. Leading hitters for the Mustangs were George Sammon 1×4, Dominic Pedersen 3×4, Liam Galten 1×2 (RBI), Nick Vollert 2×3 (2 RBI), and Trevor Bovaird 1×2 (RBI). The game against Bentley will be Wednesday at 4:00.

The softball team also received a first round hosting opportunity against the Cougars of College Prep (Oakland). St. Vincent is ranked as the #5 seed in the tournament after losing the playoff game to Calistoga on Thursday 6-4. As co-champions of the league, the Mustangs were ranked one step under Calistoga and could be headed back to Wildcat territory if both teams win. The game against College Prep will be Tuesday at 4:00.
